Hiram-Sudie Road and Scoggins Roads, both located in Paulding County are both part of S.R. 120 Connector. S.R. 120 Connector extends from S.R. 92 in Hiram to S.R. 120 southwest of Dallas. The highway extends 8 miles and parallels S.R. 120 to the south. Hiram-Sudie Road is east of S.R. 61 while Scoggins Road is west of it.
HISTORY
S.R. 120 Connector was first designated in 1983 along the two previously county-maintained roads mentioned. They were both previouisly known as C.R. 472 and met at an oblong intersection with S.R. 61 prior to the reconstruction of the intersection in 2001 that included relocation of part of Scoggins Road. The highway has otherwise seen few changes since its inception and does not generate the traffic volumes of the road it replaced as a state route, Ridge Road.

Looking northbound on S.R. 61. Note the afterthought "CONN" on the sign. Wouldn't it have been better to have just made a separate "CONN" banner? This intersection was redone in 2001, so this signage is still slightly better than DOT signage. Photo taken February 1, 2005. |

Further up to the intersection is this dualized assembly, also contractor installed. Note the development in the past two photos. Most was built after the intersection was rebuilt. Photo taken February 1, 2005. |

Eastern terminus of S.R. 120 Connector (Hiram-Sudie Road) in Hiram. Note that the sign is at least a block away from the end. It was very difficult to get proper lighting for these shots. Photo taken May 6, 2005.

Approaching S.R. 120 Connector from S.R. 92 southbound, this bridge over Grays Mill Creek replaced a narrow two-lane that backed up horribly before it was replaced in 2000. Photo taken July 30, 2004.

The lighting issues were equally as bad westbound. The first westbound reassurance shield is in a heavily wooded, but otherwise uninspiring scene. Photo taken July 30, 2004.

This area around S.R. 120 Connector in Hiram was the first built-up areas in the once very small city. Hiram is now by-passed to the west, but S.R. 92 does not follow it. Photo taken May 6, 2005. |
