Route Information, History, Photo and Termini Gallery

Located entirely in Ben Hill County, GA 182 serves as a connector between U.S. 129 and 319. Locally known as River Road, the route is 8.8 miles long and overall really goes nowhere important except that it connects two U.S. routes. The road is named River Road as it is located near the Ocmulgee River, which is one of the major branches of the Altamaha, and its surrounding wetland. The Bowens Mill Fish Hatchery is also located west of this route.

History

An original 1940's route, GA 182 was completely unpaved when it was first commissioned. By 1964, the portion west of Camp Brooklyn Road was paved. The route was fully paved in 1966. No changes have been made to the route since that time.
