Route Information, History and Termini Gallery
A bizarre arc-shaped route located in Hall and Jackson Counties, GA 332 attempted to tie together a series of small towns and communities along several winding roads all lying east of GA 53. The highway joins the towns of Hoschton, Pendergrass, Talmo and Oakwood all together into one route. In additoin, the road also connects the communities of Blackshear Place, Candler and Belmont along its 24-mile route. One-fourth of those 24 miles (6 miles) is shared mileage with GA 60 in Candler and U.S. 129/GA 11 in Pendergrass.

History

Established by 1961, GA 332 included the route from GA 60 in Belmont south to Hoschton. The route was extended west from GA 60 in Candler to GA 13 in Blackshear Place along Poplar Springs Road in 1965. The extension included a brief unpaved section west of GA 60 that was fully paved in 1966.

No further changes occured on GA 332 until it was relocated in 2003 when the Pendergrass By-Pass opened, resulting in the relocation of U.S. 129 out of Pendergrass. Since GA 332 and U.S. 129 shared mileage along an overlap to the west, that portion was decommissioned. The new route utilizes the same old alignment, but in the opposite direction. Where it joins the by-pass, GA 332 follows that alignment of U.S. 129 westward to join the other part of the highway in Talmo.
