Kings Gap on the Pine Mountain ridge, GA 354 makes an arc in Harris County extending
7.1 miles from GA 18 to GA
116 in Pine Mountain Valley. The west end of the route borders popular Callaway
Gardens, and the existance of the route appears to be largely recreational since
the highway serves Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park as well as Callaway Gardens.
The highway also features a unique rock overpass where it intersects scenic GA
190. The rock bridge is shown in the pictures below. |
| First
appearing on the map in 1961 as a local route, GA 354 became a state route in
1963. Paved upon commisssioning, GA 354 remained unchanged for years until 2001
when part of the route between U.S. 27 and GA 18 was improved, largely to accommodate
Callaway Gardens traffic. The project included an intersection realignment with
GA 18 that made eastbound GA 18 continue straight as GA 354. |

which adds a very picturesque touch to the intersection. |
