Route Information, History and Termini Gallery
Running from Elberton to Iva, SC, GA 368 spends a rather brief time in the Peach State before crossing over the Savannah River and becoming S.C. 184. Located entirely in Elbert County, the highway extends 10.8 miles located along the northwest side of Lake Russell along the Savannah River before crossing it at the state line.

History

GA 368 was first commissioned in 1970 as a result of the renumbering of the eastern leg of GA 82. Two routes numbered GA 82 existed in the state with no connection to each other. The GA 82 that followed this route was actually the second incarnation of GA 82, appearing at nearly the same time as the highway of today through Barrow, Jackson and Hall Counties.
