When it comes to road projects in Georgia, unfortunately politics as well as severely limited funds more often than not trump common sense when it comes to planning for new roads and improving existing ones. Indeed, the era of road building has slowed down in this state and where roads are needed are quickly being paved over with new development before the road graders and engineers can design them, resulting in gridlock and chaos.
While I cannot plan for the whole state, I have spent years trying to figure out what projects are needed and useful and have attempted to be forward thinking with these project ideas as well. While this is nothing more than a wishlist and some of the ideas may seem preposterous to some, the point is that if money was enough that all could be built and new roads could stay ahead of progress, this is what I would propose. It should be noted that some of these projects are revivals of dead projects as well.
Because this is simply ideas, please do not send me angry e-mails, because I am not the DOT and I have no power over what happens. I am also a person that for any road project I would find any way possible to minimize the impact both to the environment and to those whose land or businesses would be affected.
