This plan here is meant to work with the U.S./State renumberings to remove repeating and overlapping routes. The way this works is that any Spur or Connector route over 3 miles in length is reassigned a principal route number regardless of function. Routes reassigned with spur or connector numbers with lesser length are only done that way because parent routes are unavailable due to the routes stemming from U.S. routes.
What is also proposed throughout is a plan to replace the Spurs and Connectors with letter codes per spur. The first Spur or Connector is designated "A" with each successive Spur or Connector designated "B" to "Z". Care must be taken to assure no implied meanings such as "alternate", and all remaining banner routes posted must be replaced with separate banners in lieu of small text in the route marker. Since these have not been used before in Georgia, the traditional Spur and Connector banners are provided, though many designations will change.
Many of these listed here are also found in other tables. These tables are meant to cross-reference when there is overlap. Like in the U.S./State overlap table, gold routes refer to routes that share the same number as U.S. route number and are slated for replacement with other numbers, light blue routes refer to routes that function primarily as state overlaps of U.S. routes and green routes are new designations.
