Miscellaneous Renumberings

This list of renumberings affects mainline routes and does not relate to either banner routes or route duplication. As a result, these are grouped into the category of miscellaneous renumberings. Nevertheless, these are significantly needed changes.

5 Truncate Truncate GA 5 so that it does not extend north of Marietta with its terminus either at I-575 (pending a relocation) or at I-75. Renumber existing GA 5 north of Blue Ridge to GA 9 Alt, GA 68 or GA 209.
9 Relocate and extend along GA 60 Extend GA 9 northward along current GA 60 from where the routes divide at Stonepile Gap to the Tennessee State Line. GA 60 would be decommissioned along this route.
36 Extend along GA 208 Extend GA 36 along existing GA 208 from the GA 208 intersection west to U.S. 27.
39 Truncate; Renumber part to GA 208. Truncate GA 39 to current GA 39 Spur. The remainder of the route from GA 39 Spur east to U.S. 27 shall be renumbered as part of GA 208.
47 Extend to I-20 Truncate south of US 221 in Pollards Corner, relocating GA 47 south along existing GA 104 and 232 to I-20 at I-520.
59 Decommission Consider decommissioning route entirely from GA 63 to GA 77
60 Truncate at U.S. 19 Truncate at U.S. 19 south of Dahlonega; renumber remainder of route to the north as GA 9
63 Extend Extend GA 63 south along GA 59, GA 15 Alt and GA 11, respectively; remove existing route designations on all three overlapped routes; the GA 63 extension terminate at US 129 in Gray where GA 11 currently joins the route
64 Renumber or Decommission Consideration should be given to decommission part or all of this route; if retained, each section should have a different route number; renumber routes to GA 464 on portion from Pearson to GA 158. Otherwise, the Ray City to GA 135 section should become 453 and the GA 168 to U.S. 221 section become 454.
103 Decommission; Renumber Renumber as an extension of GA 116
104 Relocate Relocate GA 104 in Columbia County at the existing intersection of GA 104 and 232 westward along GA 232, replacing GA 232 entirely to U.S. 221. Relocation is due to the extension/relocation of GA 47
116 Extend Extend GA 116 westward along the last remaining portion of GA 103
148 Redesignate Consider redesignating GA 148 along the independent portion of GA 2 as GA 148 between GA 193 in Flintstone and US 411 in Cisco
205 Redesignate Redesignate GA 205 along current GA 5 Business in Canton; number needed due to truncation of GA 5 to the south; the route will be located entirely along the existing route of GA 5 Business; GA 205 could also be extended to Ball Ground either along Old GA 5 or an I-575 overlap to continue along GA 5 Business in Ball Ground
208 Relocate; renumber Relocate GA 208 to current GA 39 and 39 Spur northwest of Lumpkin. This relocation is designed to match AL 208 and take over part of GA 39 and all of GA 39 Spur. On existing GA 208, extend GA 36 along the western portion and renumber the remainder as GA 210.
210 Redesignate Redesignate GA 210 along the present route of GA 208 from GA 36 eastward to the eastern end at GA 137
211 Truncate Truncate GA 211 south at present GA 82; route will be truncated due to the extension of GA 98 along current route of GA 211 through Statham to end at GA 316
232 Decommission GA 232 will be decommissioned through the extension of parts of GA 104 and 47 along parts of its route.
273 Extend Extend GA 273 back along existing GA 273 Spur
273 Spur (Cedar Springs) Renumber Renumber GA 273 Spur back to GA 273
294 Redesignate Redesignate GA 20 Spur back to GA 294
